Can You Really Find A Healthy Life Style Without All The Work?

>> Thursday, August 6, 2009

Being healthy, in shape, and taking care for your own body
combines to equal fitness. Which is something wonderful that
people can do to enhance their lives – commit to fitness!

The Bible describes our body as being our temple, which is why
it is so important to maintain it. Staying fit is a noble act.

This will take a lot of effort and action, but there will be an
excellent payoff. Only those who work at it are lucky enough to
have a life full of peace and happiness.

Fitness exercise is vital to any routine. Fitness exercise
helps fight many diseases, some of which are serious enough to
kill, like heart disease.

Unfortunately, greater numbers of people tend to pay no
attention to this type of activity. This is why so many people
are coming down with different ailments. So of course the
hospital business is booming, even if it's on the backs of these
patients.

In fact, high school students don't generally follow the
recommended activities for fitness and health by the Council of
the President on Physical Fitness and the Surgeon General
nowadays. This amounts to 33% of the United States population.

More often than not, their disregard to health continues into
their adulthood. Since more and more people are not staying fit,
there will be even more people with weakened resistance, thus
more diseases.

As discovered by the National Institute on Aging, a mere 58 %
of Americans are taking part in a lifetime fitness program. More
often than not, they put the program last, squeezing it into
their free time. Of these people, there are only 26 % regularly
participating in the fitness program, and even then it is only
an average of three times per week.

Commitment to a lifetime of exercise is paramount, but sadly,
far too many people often neglect it. People ignore the fact
that their lives' could be greatly enhanced.

Heart disease, stroke, injuries from accidents and mishaps,
cancer, and chronic lower respiratory illnesses are common
causes of deaths in the U.S., as you may be aware. The CDC
reported these as the five most common causes of deaths each
year.

What's worse is that all these causes of death could be avoided
all together. People should pay attention to the importance of
fitness and exercise and reap the benefits of a lifetime
commitment to being fit. Deaths occurring due to accidents are
not included.

Physical exercise is not the only part making up a lifetime
fitness program, but this program includes a diet that needs to
be watched. Anyone that commits to physical fitness will
defiantly live a longer healthier life. Of course, they will be
happier overall as well. Life is more enjoyable and relaxing
when you have a healthy mind and a healthy body.

The choice is yours – do you prefer to commit to a lifetime of
fitness to live a healthy, pro-longed life, or would you rather
suffer the consequences of not taking care of yourself?

What If I Told You There Was A Solution To Failed Diets And Workout Progra

Basically, fitness means being healthy. If people committed to
fitness throughout their lives it would be truly be wonderful.

The Bible reads that our bodies are our temples. It is our
responsibility to preserve our bodies. This is why nurturing the
body and mind through a healthy routine is a regal task.

Obviously, this involves effort and action. No matter how hard
it will be the rewards are great. Only a few conscientious
people have a happy and healthy life.

Your routine is desperately in need of a fitness exercise. With
good fitness habits, people are able to ward off certain
diseases like the killer heart disease.

It seems though, that more and more people seem to ignore this
type of activity. This means that diseases are even more
prevalent. It is to no surprise that hospital businesses are
thriving due to gaining lots of clients, even if it is against
the will of the patients.

In reality, the fitness and health activities for high school
students as suggested by the Council of the President on
Physical Fitness and the Surgeon General is not generally
implemented nowadays. The activities relate to thirty three
percent of the people across the U.S.

They usually carry the attitude of neglecting physical fitness
of these youths as they turn into adulthood. Due to weak
resistance, the number of people suffering from several diseases
will increase.

According to the National Institute on Aging, only 58% of
Americans engage in a program of lifetime fitness. Also, this
fitness program is completed only during their spare time. The
lifetime fitness program is done by roughly only 26 percent on a
regular basis. Frequently they only engage in the fitness
program about three times a week.

There is a constant emphasis put on committing to a lifetime of
exercise, but it does little good as people still don't do it.
People very often do not consider that fitness can add value to
their lives.

You are probably familiar with heart disease, stroke, accidents
caused by unintended injuries, cancer and chronic lower
respiratory ailments. These illnesses constitute the 5 leading
causes of death, according to the Center for Disease Control.

Just think that over. These are common causes of death, and
they are all preventable. This can only happen if people
concentrate on fitness and exercise and make a life change.
Accidental deaths cannot be included. The lifetime fitness
program does not relate only to physical exercise. The program
also includes a diet that needs to be followed.

A lifetime of good physical fitness habits can increase your
lifespan. And most certainly be enjoyed. If you have a healthy
mind as well as body, you will have a more enjoyable life and
you stop and smell the roses.

The final decision lies with the individual. Will you care
about your health and make a commitment to a lifetime of
fitness? Or would you rather laze about and do what feels good
and face the consequences of an indulgent lifestyle later?

Problems With Weightloss Pills!

>> Thursday, July 30, 2009

Weight loss pills have been around for decades now. They have
been falling in and out of favor as a method to lose weight for
so long that, whenever a new weight loss pill is approved by the
FDA and enters the market, no one really gives it a second
thought. What could be easier to lose weight, a diet or a weight
loss pill?

Weight loss pills will always be around because of the idea of
something where you don't have to think about what to eat, or
what not to eat; you simply take a pill and let it take care of
those extra pounds for you. If it has a few unpleasant side
effects, then so be it. It is the cost of losing a few pounds.

More recently, there are many new weight loss pills that have
entered the market that some believe to be the wonder pills of
the decade. These new weight loss pills promise to make it easy
to lose a few pounds without changing your diet or exercising at
all.

The crux of the issue is that many of these newer weight loss
pills can be damaging to your health if you are not careful. To
understand what these pills really are is to be forewarned and
prepared.

All of the weight loss pills on the market today will provide
information on what foods and other medications to avoid when
using them. The reasons for informing you about what to avoid
while ingesting these miracle pills is because the weight loss
pills themselves might be rendered ineffective or cause very
unpleasant side effects if interacted with the wrong substances.

Some of the other problems that are associated with weight loss
pills have more to do with the consumer not following the
recommended allowance. Too often, someone will have the bright
idea that if they take more pills, they will lose more weight.
This is a sure method of putting your health at risk by not
following the recommended guidelines on any medications, even
for over the counter weight loss pills.

Then there are problems with some people becoming addicted to
the diet pills. Many of today's weight loss pills have a
chemical make-up that, in time, can leave you addicted. This has
been an on-going problem with weight loss pills for years and
has never gone away.

Some weight loss pills will almost work too well. If they
suppress your appetite and kill your hunger pangs, then many
will simply not be eating properly. When the body does not get
enough nutrition, this will leave your body not functioning
correctly. In time, malnutrition can set in and cause other
problems with the way your body's immune system works.

As you can readily see, there are many reasons to look before
jumping into a weight loss pill regimen before looking closely
at the options that are available. On the face of it, using
weight loss pills to lose weight may sound like a great idea but
in the end, too many individuals have experienced many health
problems associated with this risky undertaking.

It was not that long ago that the FDA pulled several brands of
weight loss pills off the store's shelves because they all
contained a drug that was linked to causing heart disease. Take
the time to look before leaping.

Fitness With Out All The Work.... How Can That Be?

Fitness mainly refers to the body being in a healthy state. It
is great to see that some people are making a commitment to a
lifetime of good fitness, however it would be better if there
were many more joining in.

According to the Bible, our body is our temple, so it is our
own job to uphold it well. This is why we should take care of
our bodies and minds, as this is really a gracious act.

This doesn't mean that it is easy; it will be hard to do. But
no matter how challenging you may find it to be, you will find
it that much more rewarding in the end. Do you want a happy and
healthy life? It is only obtainable if you work hard for it.

Fitness exercise is essential to one's basic routine. An active
fitness regiment increases the body's immunity and fights
against heart disease, which is a major killer.

There are far too many unhealthy people walking the world
today. Therefore, various diseases plague greater numbers of
people. Although this is against the patients' wishes the
hospitals still are attracting lots of clients and hence this
business is prospering day by day.

As according to the Council of the President on Physical
Fitness and the Surgeon General, the problem arises with teens
since they are slacking on doing the recommended amount of
activities. This group makes up 33 % of the American population.

They usually carry the attitude of neglecting physical fitness
of these youths as they turn into adults. This means that these
future adults will have weakened resistance and will suffer from
different types of diseases.

The National Institute on Aging reported that only 58% of
Americans are engaged in a lifetime fitness program, and they
are only able to work fitness into their spare time. Only about
26 percent are regularly performing the lifetime fitness
program. Of this group, most exercise three times a week.

The importance of a commitment to lifetime exercise is always
being stressed. Most people usually neglect this commitment.
Frequently, people used to disregard the fact that it can really
do an enhancement on the value of one's life.

Most probably you have already heard that the common causes of
deaths in this country are heart disease, stroke, accidents
caused by unintended injuries, cancer and chronic lower
respiratory ailments. These diseases are actually the five most
common causes of deaths yearly as reported by the Center for
Disease Control.

Have you ever really thought about it? These everyday killers
could so easily be stopped beforehand! That would call for
people to exercise more, however and they would need to be a
part of a lifetime fitness program. These do not include the
reported accidental deaths.

We are not only talking about physical exercise when we refer
to a lifetime fitness program. This program also incorporates
nutritional guidelines, which must be followed.

For sure, if you commit to a lifetime of physical fitness, your
life will be extended and certainly be enjoyed. People can enjoy
their lives more when they have a healthy mind and a healthy
body.

The rest is up to you. Will you take care of your health and
commit to a lifetime of fitness? If you abuse it you will suffer
when you're older.

Failed Weight Loss Programs... Can It Be Made Better?

The state of being healthy is basically referred to as fitness.
It would be great if people could commit themselves to fitness
for life.

According to the Bible, our body is our temple. We therefore
have an obligation to keep our body healthy. Certainly for this
reason, it is a remarkable act to maintain health of both the
mind and the body.

This requires both hard work and careful action. It does not
matter how difficult it is to keep a healthy life, but it is
rewarding. Of course only the few people that work for it are
able to achieve a lifetime of happiness and health.

Exercising for fitness is an important part of a healthy daily
routine. People are able to fight several diseases through
exercise and keeping fit. The heart disease is regarded as one
of the killer diseases.

The trend is becoming more popular to ignore activity. This is
why a lot of people are suffering from various illnesses.
Hospitals are profiting now more than ever, mainly because
patients don't follow the doctors' orders.

In fact, teenagers nowadays don't usually follow the suggested
activities for fitness and health by the Council of the
President on Physical Fitness and the Surgeon General. This
makes up 33% of the United States population.

The poor physical fitness habits of today's nation's youth will
carry with them right into adulthood. The amount of people
suffering from diseases will only rise in numbers.

According to a report by the National Institute on Aging, only
58% of Americans are engaged in a program of lifetime fitness.
They only follow their fitness program on their spare time.
Sadly, there are only a quarter of them that are habitual
participants in the lifetime fitness program. Oftentimes,
approximately three times every week.

A commitment to a lifetime of exercise is important. But far
too often, many people neglect it. Often, people disregard the
fact that it will really enhance their lives.

Perhaps you are already aware that the common local causes of
deaths are heart disease, stroke, accidents caused by unintended
injuries, cancer and chronic lower respiratory ailments. The
Center for Disease Control reports these diseases are among the
5 most common causes of death each year.

Fatality from these five common diseases can be avoided easily.
As mentioned, common causes of death may be easily avoided. This
could only occur if people would focus on fitness exercise more
so, to allow for a commitment into a lifetime fitness program.
Accidental deaths are not included.

A lifetime fitness program does not only deal with physical
exercise. This program includes following a diet.
It is likely that the commitment to physical fitness will offer
a longer life as well as a happier one. You'll get a lot more
out of life, including picking more daisies, if you keep your
mind and body healthy.

It's your decision. What will you choose – work toward a
lifetime of fitness or be lazy and face the consequences?

The Day Off Diet Review

The Day Off Diet is the latest in dieting but it is not just
another flash in the pan fad. It's a dieting method that really
works and is really livable.

Unlike other diets like Atkins & Weight Watchers which require
you to keep careful record of everything you eat, you do not
have to count carbohydrates or calories when dieting on The Day
Off Diet. That's because the diet uses a special "Green Light"
food guideline system which will let you know the foods you can
eat all you want of without having to worry about gaining
weight. That's why unlike low calorie diets, you will never go
hungry on The Day Off Diet.

Even more important than the ease of following the "Green
Light" system is that this system enables your body to finally
"turn off the fat storing gene" that is actually making you gain
fat in the first place! Scientists have found that certain foods
trick the body into thinking it's time to store fat instead of
burn it. The "Green Light" foods do not contain any of those
foods and that is why your body will turn off the fat storing
gene and begin to lose weight much faster when you start The Day
Off Diet.

Another thing that sets The Day Off Diet apart from lesser
diets is the weekly "day off" that gives the diet it's name. The
diet requires a day off from dieting every 7th day. On this day
the dieter can eat anything they want without concern. That
includes cheeseburgers, pizza, brownies, and ice cream! There is
absolutely nothing off limits and you can eat as much of it as
you want.

Besides the obvious psychological advantage of being able to
regularly satisfy your cravings every 7th day and being able to
fully enjoy your social life every Saturday (the day most choose
as their "day off,") there's also a big weight loss advantage to
this revolutionary dieting technique. The weekly "day off" helps
you lose weight even faster by boosting your metabolism. It's
important not to try to implement this "day off" routine on your
own, it is likely to only work correctly when combined with The
Day Off Diet's special "Green Light" food guidelines provided
for the other 6 days of the week!

Unlike old fashioned diets, The Day Off Diet can be accessed
online immediately upon purchase. Furthermore, it can be
purchased with just a one time payment instead of the monthly
payments that make other diets so costly! For example, Weight
Watchers costs $40/month which means it's $480 for a full year's
membership! Food delivery diets like Jenny Craig & Medifast can
cost well over $3000 a year.

The Day Off Diet also includes some free bonuses that should be
mentioned as they are of a very high quality. It includes a
special Day Off Diet recipe cookbook which will help you to
follow the diet at home with your own cooking. It also includes,
free of charge, a "beauty handbook" which is worth over $20 on
it's own. My favorite of the free bonuses is the optional
strength training program which is, in it's own way, just as
revolutionary as the diet itself. It shows how you can build a
lot of muscle in a very short amount of time. Muscle is the best
way to boost your metabolism long term as each pound of muscle
burns 50 calories a day at rest.

What Is The Average Cost Of Liposuction Surgery?

>> Saturday, July 25, 2009

The short answer to the question posed in the title of this
article is $3,000 to $4,000.

However, since liposuction surgery is nearly always elective
and not used in an emergency situation, the average cost of
liposuction surgery is difficult to determine because costs
vary by both the doctor and by the region where the liposuction
surgery is performed. So, best practice dictates that you should
compare two or three doctors to get an average cost in your
geographic area.

Doctors may prescribe post-ultrasound and massage treatments.
Some do not. The number of laboratory tests and fees will
affect your total cost. Some doctors use lasers, others use
ultrasonic devices.

Here are the major factors to consider. Keep in mind that for
doctors as for most business people, time is money.

1. The amount of fat to be removed - simple formula: the more
fat to be removed the more time it will take to remove it. The
result for very obese patients is higher cost.

2. Your sex will affect the cost. Fat is easier to remove from
women than men. Fat in men is usually tougher (more fiber) than
in women. So, the average time of liposuction for men will take
longer.

3. If your doctor uses a general anesthesia and a hospital to
perform the surgery, your cost is increased.

4. How many areas of your body need treatment? You need to find
out what your doctor considers different and separate areas
because he or she will charge a fee for each area. Usually the
abdomen is divided into the upper and lower to make up two
areas. Your waist and your hips are considered as two areas.
Front and back thighs are also two separate areas.

5. Do you need to travel a long distance for your surgery? To
get an average cost of liposuction surgery you need to figure
in the travel costs including gas for your car or flight
tickets and an overnight stay if that is necessary.

6. Will your doctor use lasers or ultrasonic liposuction? These
are not standard procedures so you must ask if either will be
used to make a fair comparison. Recent estimates show the
average cost of liposuction surgery is about $3,000 in Texas.
In New York it is over $4,000.

When it comes to money, you don't want to be surprised by a
bill. Ask many questions about the liposuction surgery and be
sure to nail down an approximate cost. If you are comparing
costs, always compare the total quote from each doctor as
opposed to comparing the smaller component fees separately.
This will make it easier for you.

Spring Cleaning For More Effective Weight Loss

The arrival of spring is often marked by spring cleaning
rituals as we attempt to rid our homes of all the junk we
accumulated over the winter months while we were hanging out
indoors. The warm weather inspires us to get outdoors and do
some serious spring cleaning. Spring cleaning should also apply
to your lifestyle to encourage you to get rid of stuff that
doesn't work well anymore.

Is all that cold weather comfort food really going to make your
body ready for shorts and tank tops? Will sitting on the sofa
get rid of extra body fat to improve your appearance in that
summer swimsuit? Because the answers to those questions are
clearly no, there is no time like the present to spring clean
your refrigerator and life.

Here are five suggestions...

1. Go through your refrigerator, freezer and cupboards and
throw out all that fattening comfort food you noshed on during
winter evenings in front of the fire.

2. Take a trip to the grocery store and buy all those fresh
fruits and vegetables that are available in the produce section.
Better yet, indulge yourself with a visit to a farm or fruit
market - buying the freshest produce available adds to its
allure.

3. Get off the couch. Take a walk, ride your bike or simply pop
in a new fitness DVD and get started. Exercise can be simple and
doesn't require a lot of time or equipment. Just shut off that
television show for a half hour - get up and do it! Your body
will thank you later when you slide those jeans on so easily.

4. Is the door of your refrigerator laden with soft drinks?
Toss them out and buy a case of water. Not only is water more
refreshing in the warm weather, it has no calories and your body
needs six to eight glasses of water a day to function properly.

5. Store those heavy winter moisturizers and revamp your skin
care routine. Use a mask to remove dead winter skin cells and
make sure you have a deep cleanser, exfoliating treatment, toner
and light moisturizer to complete you warm weather skin care
routine.

With a bit of attention to your everyday lifestyle and some
spring cleaning, your winter woes will melt away and you'll be
ready to face summer looking and feeling your best!

Weight Loss Surgery; The Last Resort

For millions of overweight people who have walked through the
endless revolving door of weight loss and weight gain there may
come a day when having weight loss surgery becomes a decision
with which they are faced. And while weight loss surgery
represents the final frontier for many who have battled the
bulge for years, it is fast becoming an accepted and commonplace
procedure. What was once considered a risky last resort has now
become a customary course of action among those looking to lose
significant weight.

However, one thing that has remained the same is that weight
loss surgery is meant for those who are clinically and
dangerously overweight. It is not a quick fix for those who just
need to lose a few pounds. When the dangers of obesity far
outweigh the dangers of a surgical procedure then weight loss
surgery becomes an option.

Luckily, weight loss surgery is now much safer and is performed
by a host of experienced doctors who have delivered results for
thousands of people around the world. It is of the utmost
importance however to find a highly regarded doctor who is
vastly experienced in weight loss surgery. Word of mouth can be
a great place to start; once you hear of a particular doctor –
from a variety of sources – who has earned a stellar reputation
you can then go about researching his/her more factual
credentials.

There are several types of weight loss surgery. During
restrictive procedures the stomach is actually made smaller to
decrease the amount of food that can be ingested. Malabsorptive
techniques limit the contact ingested food has with the
intestines thus reducing the amount of food that is absorbed
into the body.

Weight loss surgery promises to become less invasive in the
future as surgeons explore safer, non-invasive surgery in the
form of laparoscopic procedures.

Regardless of anything, the decision to have weight loss
surgery should not be made lightly. Every effort should be made
to lose weight through diet and exercise first.

If you feel as though this is the solution for you, consult
with your doctor on whether your risk factors for
obesity-related diseases outweigh your risk factors for surgery.
Do your research; talk to others who have had the procedure, go
online to access the enormous amount of information available
there; read every book and piece of literature you can find.
Being educated on what to expect during and after surgery will
help you make an informed decision.

And know that weight loss surgery does not mean that you are
off the hook in being mindful of diet and exercise. Having
surgery and then going back to your old lifestyle will only
sabotage your chances of success. Be smart about weight loss
surgery and a new healthy life can be yours to have.

Low Fat Foods DON'T WORK.

You cannot lose weight using Low Fat Diets.  Low fat foods have been popular for more than 15 years, but yet our society is getting more overweight as each year passes.  This fact alone should tell you that eating a purely low fat menu is not the answer to losing weight.

Low Calorie Diets DON'T WORK.

You won't lose weight using a Low Calorie Dieting Plan either.   In fact, eating low calories is the worst thing that you can do to your body, since that will only slow down your body's fat burning engine and ruin all chances of losing weight (low calorie diets may allow a few pounds of weight loss for the first few days, but then after that all weight loss comes to a halt --- known as a dieting plateau).   You can never get slim by starving yourself.

Low Carb Plans DON'T WORK.

You'll probably find it extremely difficult to get slim using a Low Carb Dieting Plan.  Low carb diets have recently become popular over the last couple years, but the problem with low carb menus is that they are too strict and TOO HARD TO FOLLOW for average people.   Low carb menus tend to rob your body of too much energy (carbohydrates) and make it nearly impossible to remain on the program for very long.  This is why so many dieters find it difficult to follow a strict low carbohydrate menu.

What about Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig Dieting Plans?

Weight loss programs such as Weight Watchers (and Jenny Craig) usually involve slower dieting progress over a longer period of time, since such programs generally promise only 2-3 pounds of weight loss per week.  Also, programs such as Jenny Craig usually involve buying special meals and/or dietary supplements during the initial phases of the program.  While some people may like these types of dietary programs, we prefer a dieting plan which focuses on faster weight loss, such as the Accelerated Fat Burning Program shown below...

The Bad and Ugly Fats: Saturated Fats and Trans Fats

>> Wednesday, April 1, 2009

Primarily found in animal proteins and some vegetable sources,
saturated fats can be a powerfully damaging food, more so from
some sources than others. However, given the fact that human
breast milk contains saturated fat, I do not think that all
saturated fat sources have negative effects on the body.
Saturated fat is a very concentrated source of fuel, and
different types of saturated fat, coming from animal sources
especially, have been linked definitively to very high levels of
inflammation and disease, especially when we overexpose our
bodies more than once in a 24-hour period.

High amounts of saturated fat can cause a rapid increase in the
inflammatory process soon after it's eaten. Beginning in the
mouth and moving all the way through the digestive tract, this
inflammation can end up in the smallest systems of the human
cell.

Sources of highly-concentrated saturated fat include:

• cream and all milk except skimmed
• cheese
• lard
• butter, regular ice cream (made from cow milk fat)
• meats (beef, chicken, turkey, pork, lamb)
• processed meats
• coconut oil
• cottonseed oil
• palm seed oil (not the palm fruit)
• chicken fat
• ghee (used in Indian food)

Cholesterol

A related type of lipid, or fat, in our diet is cholesterol,
which is found in many foods that also contain fats. We need
cholesterol but should avoid excessiveamounts of it. Cholesterol
occurs naturally in the body and is also absorbed from food. An
average body produces around 800–1000 mg of cholesterol and
takes in an additional 200–300 mg from food. We need this
cholesterol to create and maintain cell membranes, break down
fats, and absorb vitamins (especially Vitamin D).

Cholesterol also plays a role in the production of bile and of
hormones such as cortisol, aldosterone, progesterone, estrogen,
and testosterone. In the brain, cholesterol assists in the
maintenance of nerve synapses. Cholesterol also plays an
important role in our immune system.

Sources of highly-concentrated cholesterol include:

• eggs
• dairy products
• animal meats, both lean and fat
• organ meats
• lard

The Ugly: Trans Fats

The trans fats in the standard American diet are especially
damaging. These mostly man-made fats actually begin as an
unsaturated fat, usually a vegetable oil, which is mixed with
hydrogen gas and platinum catalysts, then heated to temperatures
in excess of 500° F to make it more solid and to give it a
longer shelf life. This recipe results in changing the molecular
makeup of healthy fatty acids into disfigured, twisted
molecules—trans fat—often listed on food labels as hydrogenated
fats or oils. Serve them hot or cold, and your body will deliver
this toxic, inflammatory mixture to every cell in your body,
including your brain cells. Chronic exposure to man-made trans
fat found in thousands of processed foods from salad dressings
to snacks, margarines to cake mixes can be very toxic to
everyone, but extremely toxic to Apo E 4s. It is very difficult
for the body to get rid of these types of molecules once they
are incorporated in its cellular structure, and this can cause
severe chronic disease states.

One of the reasons we have so much trans fat in our diet is due
to a very powerful consumer interest group that campaigned to
remove saturated fat and palm seed oil from our food. The drive
in the early 1980s to remove saturated fats led to the food
processors using something even worse—trans fat, but in the
early 1990s we began to realize the damage it causes. In January
2006 we saw even more subversive uses of trans fat via
legislation with a labeling loophole allowing foods less than
0.5 mg per serving of fat to be labeled nonfat. This means that
you can still get a dose of trans fat in your "0" trans
fat-labeled food. Best read the label and the ingredients!

While trans fat has been produced and used in food for more
than 100 years, we still have much to learn about its effects on
the development of cell membranes, brain cells, arterial
inflammatory plaque development, and growing fetal brain tissue.
We do know that our body manufactures cell membranes from the
fats we eat, so if our diet is high in inflammatory fats, we are
creating defective cell membranes, hormones, and brain cells.

Could this be why we have so much brain pathology, with severe
neurological diseases such as Alzheimer's Disease and Parkinson
disease? We do not yet have conclusive evidence, but logic tells
us this could be a cause. Once again, we need to take
precautions by removing these fats from our diet. Remember that
no evidence of harm is not equal to evidence of no harm.

The food processing industry is very powerful. As long as using
trans fat saves money, increases food shelf life, and provides
more flavor, they will continue to use the hydrogen process,
unless forced to stop.

As a medical practitioner on the front lines, I say let logic
prevail! We all need to learn more about food so we can make
better food choices. Education is our best weapon. Toward the
end of your life, it will be your long-term food choices that
determine whether you will be playing with backpacks or bedpans.

As a consumer, you can change the way the food industry
produces the foods you purchase. The choice is simple — don't
buy foods with inflammatory trans fats in them. As Marion
Nestle, PhD, mph, author of Food Politics: How the Food Industry
Influences Nutrition and Health and What to Eat, says, "Vote
with Your Fork." I agree with Marion, because behind your fork
is green power — money!

Important sources of trans fat to avoid include:

• stick margarine
• deep-fried fast food
• commercial cookies
• crackers
• commercial dessert pastries such as pies and cakes
• sports drinks (a popular brand added a "Z factor," which
turned out to be trans fat)

Get Healthy With Some Fruity Fun

>> Tuesday, March 17, 2009

It can often be difficult to factor fruit into your diet,
especially if you are a determined junk food addict. However,
you do need to eat a wide range of fresh fruit if you want to
live a full, healthy life.

Fortunately there are lots of innovative ways to introduce some
fruity fun into your life.

Blend it up

If you own a blender – and it doesn't have to be a
top-of-the-range model – you can start making delicious
smoothies straight away.

Don't be afraid to experiment with the selection of fruits and
berries in your smoothies. A combination of bananas, a mango and
a chopped apple makes a wonderful and nutritious banana
smoothie, while blackberries, blueberries and strawberries can
also be blended together to make a tasty mixed berry drink.

The choice really is yours. Making smoothies is a great way to
introduce healthier foods to your diet, because you can decide
which ingredients suit your tastes. If you have any specific
health complaints (for example, cranberries can ease the
symptoms of cystitis), you can easily blend the appropriate
fruits into your smoothie for an extra-healthy boost.

Cooking to keep the goodness in

In the case of many fruits and vegetables, cooking destroys
vital nutrients. However, apples and pears become easier to
digest if you roast them gently in the oven. Sprinkle on a
little water to help the cooking process, and dust them with
cinnamon to create a deliciously sweet snack.

Other fruits that can be cooked include pineapples and even
strawberries. Stuck on a bamboo kebab skewer and lightly
grilled, these make a wonderful warm dessert, especially when
served with a little natural yoghurt.

When you're heating fruits, do remember not to cook them to
death, as this will destroy many of the enzymes that help keep
your body healthy. You should also make sure you include a
mixture of cooked and raw fruits in your diet.

How fruit helps

A diet that includes a wide selection of fruits is very
important if your body is to function properly. Fresh and dried
fruits can ease the symptoms of constipation, high blood
pressure, osteoporosis and problems with memory and
concentration.

As fruits are a valuable source of natural sugars, they also
help to keep your energy levels stable and constant throughout
the day, thereby promoting healthy sleep and combating insomnia.

Berries are particularly high in antioxidants and can help the
body fight off a number of eye problems. For example,
blepharitis is an inflammation of the eyelids which can be eased
by eating raspberries and drinking tea made from raspberry
leaves.

If you want to get rid of unsightly dark circles under the
eyes, cranberries, blackberries and blueberries can all improve
liver function and make these circles fade.

So whether you blend your favourite fruits together to make a
sumptuous smoothie or sprinkle a few strawberries on to your
porridge for a brilliant breakfast, the number of ways to get
fruit into your diet is limited only by your imagination.

Controlling Your Taste to Lose Weight

Mentioned below are some of the tips that will help your
stomach feel full for a longer duration and avoid curb cravings.
It is worth giving the following tips a try as they will
eventually help you in reducing weight.

Never prevent yourself from eating in the morning just because
you want to have it all in the evening. Regardless of how much
ever "be in command of" position you believe you are in the day,
you're prone to be excessively hungry by late afternoon. This
will ultimately result in overeating without doubt. And in
particular, don't miss out any meals to preserve calories for
another. This rebounds fatally most of the time.

Never try to skip meals just because you want to save calories
or burn them off. This way you are more likely to become even
hungrier than you usually are by the time you finally have your
meal. Practicing this everyday will just lead to overeating.

Have a healthy breakfast each morning. By having breakfast
every morning, you will keep the sugar level in your body stable
and avoid diabetes. This in turn helps in keeping hunger at bay.
You will also notice that your energy levels are much higher
because sluggishness makes you eat more.

If truth be told, research has revealed that people having
regular breakfast are more likely to have a healthier weight
than people who normally skip breakfast.

Ingestion of abundance of water throughout the day in addition
to intake of melons and oranges and other fruits, which have a
lot of water in them, will help you feel satisfied for most part
of the day. Additionally, there are situations when thirst is
simply confused with hunger, so keeping yourself well hydrated
might help you avoid eating when you're not really feeling for
true appetite.

Get sufficient sleep. When we are weary or tired, we tend to
consume more than usual without even being conscious of it. It's
a method that the body uses to "perk" you up. Despite the fact
that consuming something high in carbohydrates will provide you
with an explosion of get-up-and-go feeling, the burst of energy
will disappear in no time. When you are well-rested it will help
you keep that "afternoon droop" at bay and definitely far away
from the vending machine.

Eating habits also need a regular schedule that you need to
follow. Eating on a regular basis will keep you satisfied all
the time without making you feel hungry or starved and thus
controlling the quantity you sooner or later consume. The
suitable time between each meal should be at least three hours
but it should never exceed the limit of five hours. When you go
without food for more than five hours, that's when the problem
starts. This problem can be successfully solved by including
healthy and nutritional snacks and fruit drinks into your
time-table or by having a number of mini-meals as a replacement
for the three normal meals.

Good Instructions To Gaining Muscle Mass

>> Thursday, February 26, 2009

Muscle mass building is a hard effort and and also a high
challenge. Society usually think you by your appearance let it
be beautiful or ugly. Of course good looking persons obviously
have good advantages over certain things in the society. So if
you started already going to the gym and you already have your
diet, you are good to go. You should focus on compound exercises
if you plan on gaining weight because they are the best muscle
gaining exercises, because you don't only work with targeted the
muscle mass, but also with all the small ones that aren't
developed yet and will grow fast.

Building muscle should be enjoyed. You can build up muscle mass
if you use a set plan and follow the instructions with as much
high attention to detail as you can. You must set your goals and
focus to these goals. It is significant to achieve the goals.
Without the goals, you will have big difficulties in building
muscle mass. Setting your goals and keep your motivation on the
schedule. Make sure to do not set unrealistic goals and follow
them in your routine.

Here are a few tips you should keep in mind when starting your
muscle gaining:

Start weight training

Of course you want to have a large variety of fitness machines,
then joining a gym that have them. For anyone who cannot follow
any extra efforts but still want to build the muscle mass, you
may to try with push-ups, pull-ups and dips. You can get
hundreds of fitness exercises information trough the internet
accessing. What is really good about it is that you don not need
to incur high cost for the building muscle mass. You will be
surprised how cheap exercises are at your goals.

Take lots of protein

The main food for muscle mass building is high protein. Beef,
turkey and chicken are the most choices for the muscle mass and
with great reason, they are both high protein. Important factor
to how much protein you should consume is the type of activity
you participated in and how often you do the activity. Good
sources of the high protein foods you can get for your fitness
exercises such as beff, fish, turkey breast, eggs white, skim
milk, low fast cottage cheese, and protein powders.

Get enough rest

You need the ideal hours amount of rest. This way is not only
includes getting between six to eight hours of sleep in a night
but also includes using the amount of hours in workouts for the
same body part.

You may do exercises in 3 days per week to build the muscle
mass, for example Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Do an easy warm
up step to get the blood flowing. Then take moderate exercises
and do 2-3 sets of 20 reps for each one. You must remember that
any muscles don not grow when you are lifting. They usually grow
when you are resting. And avoiding aerobic exercises. This way
is important if you want to build the muscle mass. Because the
aerobics burn glycogen and will create slow down the process of
building muscle mass.

How To Exercise And Lose Weight

>> Wednesday, February 25, 2009

How to exercise and lose weight is one the most popular
question thrown at all personal trainers and fitness consultants
around the world. The reason behind this is that there is many
people out there that exercise vigorously almost daily and get
zero results! It may sound funny if you are not the one that is
not getting results. You can just stand and laugh and make fun
of that guy who tried so hard and yet get no results.

In reality, it is very depressing for that person because that
individual pours in all his hopes, his dreams, time and money
into his or her exercise program and only to find out that he is
going no where. This article is to address this issue. By
reading this article, you would now know what it takes to lose
body fat and look good. If you can satisfy all the principle in
this article, you are guaranteed to achieve you fitness goal.
For those who started already, it is not to late to apply these
principles now.

The principle that I want to talk to you is this, the F.I.T.T
principle. If this principle is followed exactly, you definitely
can exercise and lose weight. But if it is not followed, you are
just wasting your time. You can get some results, but not
significant.

F.I.T.T is the ultimate guideline for all exercise programs.
This concept stands for frequency, intensity, type and time.

Frequency

We always give excuses when it comes to something painful.
Exercising for example. We can give all sorts of excuses like
work, traveling, studying and many others but the fact is, you
have to ask yourself why are you reading this article is the
first place? If you want to lose weight and it is really
something you want, be prepared to invest 3 to 5 hours of
exercise session per week. Yes, there is no way around it and
your body will not be sympathetic to your excuses.

According to the American Council on Exercise, you need to
exercise at least 3 times a week to get minimum results and 5
times a week to get optimum results. In order to lose 1 pound of
body fat, you need to burn 3500 calories. Do you think you can
achieve that with just 2 hours of exercising per week?
Intensity

There are people who go to the gym daily. It is like their
second home. They will do cardio and weight training religiously
but yet, they get no results. Why? They don't get results
because their exercise intensity is not high enough to utilize
the fat in the fat cells! This is especially important during
your cardio session. You have to hit at least 75 percent of your
maximum heart rate. You cannot get lean abs by just walking 5.0
km/h for 45 minutes!

Type

The type here means the type of training. In order to maximize
your body fat loss, you need to combine weight training, cardio
training and stretching. Weight training can help build muscle,
which in return speeds up your metabolism. An additional 1-pound
of pure muscle can burn extra 50 calories by doing nothing. The
extra calories are there to keep the muscle alive. Cardio
training will help by making the body to use the fat in the fat
cells, thus burning body fat and preserving muscle!

Do not look down on stretching. With a better flexibility, you
can run further and not only that, your muscle function better
thus producing better results.

Time

Time here refers to the time you need to invest in your
training per day. Regarding weight training, an intense weight
training session should be around 45 minutes. We are talking
about a rest period of 1 minute between sets. For the cardio
sessions, in the beginning you should try to train for 30
minutes. When you are fitter, you need to build up to 45
minutes. In my experience, most people lose loads of body fat
when they can run for 45 minutes at the heart rate of 80 per
cent of max heart rate.

These principles of F.I.T.T are very important. These
principles are not just simply developed. They are created by
researches and observations. If you can follow these principles
properly, you definitely can lose the body fat that you wanted
in no time at all! Think about it, these principles are so easy
to follow you just make exercising your priority. You have to
really want it!

How Diabetics Can Lose Weight Fast And Easy - More Strategies

Diabetes is on the rise and as a result many are wondering how
diabetics can lose weight fast and easy. By losing weight,
diabetics can improve their condition and even get rid of the
disease altogether. Following the strategies below you can learn
how to lose weight fast and improve your overall health.

More Fresh and Less Processed

The first key for how diabetics can lose weight fast and easy
is to understand the importance of eating fresh foods over
processed ones. How much of what you eat comes in some kind of
package and how much is fresh? Fresh means that it is a close to
its original state as possible. For example, fresh broccoli has
a lot more nutrition it in than frozen broccoli.

Likewise, how much of what you eat is made from processed white
flour? Do you eat a lot of bread or pizza? Heavily processed
foods have had all the nutrients processed right out of them so
all that is left is high calorie filler.

Because these foods have very little vitamins, minerals and
enzymes in them, you become hungry again really fast and desire
to eat even more, making you fatter and fatter. Try to at least
eat as much fresh foods as you do processed. And if you feel you
can be successful, try to tip the scale to 60% fresh and 40%
processed. Or, 70/30 would be even better.

The Power of Before and After Photos

You can get quite a boost in motivation and energy when you can
compare the new you to the old you. Be sure to take a picture of
yourself, even if you don't like having pictures of the chubby
you around.

You will be blown away after you lose 20, 40 60 pounds and can
compare the difference. Documentation of your success can give
you the boost in motivation to you going and either continue to
lose weight or maintain your ideal weight if you have already
made it.

It is also very normal for someone trying to make the
significant lifestyle changes needed to lose weight to fall down
now and again. The business of life may keep you from exercising
for a couple weeks allowing some of the weight you have lost to
come back.

Pulling out of photo of the old and overweight you may be all
that is required to get you back on track. It can give you the
determination to prioritize your life and make exercise a
priority.

Food Labels are for Reading

Another crucial key for knowing how diabetics can lose weight
fast and easy is to know what you are eating. This is especially
true since sugar, in all its forms, is lurking in all sorts of
places you would never imagine.

You can't trust a food product based on the front of the
package. Whatever the manufacturer puts on the front is designed
to sell the product, not inform. To be informed about what you
are eating, you have to read the ingredients label on the back.

One thing that makes us gain weight is eating empty calories.
Empty calories only make us feel full for a short while. The
body hunger is only satisfied when it gets the nutrients it
needs. If you eat junk food or fast food, you will quickly
become hungry again when the body realizes that it didn't get
the nutrients it needed from the last meal.

Read the label and make sure that there is a good calorie to
nutrient ratio. Here's a good tip: stay away from most heavily
processed foods. They are full of calories and have very little
nutrients.

These three strategies are the foundation for knowing how
diabetics can lose weight fast and easy. Eating more fresh foods
instead of processed ones, motivating yourself with before and
after photos, and learning how to look at food labels will start
you on your way to a healthy life.

Fat Loss Circuit Training Workout

>> Tuesday, February 24, 2009

Today I'd like to give you an exciting full body workout that
will burn tons of calories and leave you feeling great in just
40 minutes. So if you want to burn fat, tone up, and get fit
then this workout is for you.
Another great advantage of this workout is that all you need to
complete it is a set of dumbbells, a stability ball, and a step.
A cardio machine is advised for your interval training
component.

The fat burning workout I'm about to provide you with is an
example of the type of circuit training workouts that are a key
component of my Fitter U™ fat loss fitness program.

So here's how it's going to work. We're going to take 6
exercises and set them up in a circuit training routine. For
each exercise you will be completing as many repetitions as
possible in a 30 second time period. After each exercise you
will then rest for 30 seconds before moving on to the next one.
Once you've completed the entire first set you can then grab a
sip of water and rest for 1-2 minutes.

After your 1-2 minute rest period, you will then choose a
cardio machine and perform 5 minutes of intervals. The interval
training component is a great way to spike your metabolism and
burn further calories in just a few minutes. For these intervals
you will be working hard for 10 seconds and recovering for 50
seconds. This will be repeated 5 times for a total of 5 minutes.

For instance, if you are on the bike you would pedal as fast as
possible (at a good resistance) for 10 seconds and then follow
that with a nice and easy 50 second recovery. Got it? Awesome!

Both the circuit training and interval training sequences are
repeated twice.

So here's how the workout structure will look:

Warm-up

5 minutes light cardio

CIRCUIT 1 (30 sec. work, 30 sec. rest)

Standing lunges Plank Step-ups with biceps curls and shoulder
press Push-ups Stability ball crunches Ball squats (against
wall) with biceps curls

Rest 1-2 minutes

INTERVAL TRAINING 1 (10 sec. hard, 50 sec. recovery)

Rest 1-2 minutes

CIRCUIT 2 (30 sec. work, 30 sec. rest)

Standing lunges Plank Step-ups with biceps curls and shoulder
press Push-ups Stability ball crunches Ball squats (against
wall) with biceps curls

Rest 1-2 minutes

INTERVAL TRAINING 2 (10 sec. hard, 50 sec. recovery)

This entire workout should take you no more than 40 minutes.

Give it a shot and experience the Fitter U™ difference.

Best Type of Cardio For Fat Loss

The goal in any fat loss exercise regimen is to choose
activities that consume large amounts of oxygen. This is because
the body burns 5 calories for every liter of oxygen that it
consumes.

Therefore, what do you think would be the best type of cardio
to do for fat loss?

Well, let's look at the typical options. Running, biking,
swimming, elliptical, rowing, walking, stair climbing/stair
master, upper body ergometer, and obviously many outdoor sports
such as cross-country skiing.

So there are many forms of cardio to choose from and they all
work. It's important to always remember that. All forms of
exercise will work in the long run given the right training
program and consistent effort.

But we're interested in not only what works but works what best
for burning fat! We want to get the best bang for our buck,
right?

Since the goal is to maximize oxygen consumption (and thus VO2)
it is essential to find activities that will recruit the
greatest amount of muscle. This is because the more muscle that
is needed to perform an activity or movement, the more oxygen
that will be needed to supply those working muscles. Make sense?

Oxygen is the precursor to all the energy your body produces.
Your working muscles need oxygen otherwise they will quickly
fatigue and will be unable to perform their functions.

It is well known that athletes in sports that require large
amounts of muscle have the highest VO2 max (maximum aerobic
capacity) because their sports demand a massive supply of oxygen
to their working muscles. As such, the highest VO2 max on record
exist not in runners (as many would think) but rather
cross-country skiers and rowers.

Think about that for a second. Both cross-country skiing and
rowing involve just about muscle in the body working against
resistance. Both the upper body and lower body muscles are
pushing and pulling a given resistance which makes these sports
not only great aerobic training tools but also fantastic fat
burning cardio machines.

If you've ever watched Olympic rowing you will have undoubtedly
noticed towering men and women stacked with large and lean
muscles. Most of the male rowers are upwards of 6'4'' and 220
lbs of shear muscle, making them calorie-burning machines.

These male and female rowers can get away with their large
frames because rowing is not a true weight-bearing sport. In
fact, this terrific sport idealizes large muscular athletes
because they can produce a lot of power, both aerobically and
muscularly, through their large muscle mass.

However, If you took these same rowers and asked them to run at
the same intensities at which they row, they would most likely
have a difficult time – not only because of the specific nature
of running but also because they would be "carrying" a lot of
mass.

How many 6'4", 220 lbs runners do you know of? Most runners are
slim and slight. It simply makes their movement much easier.
Less weight to carry means less effort. If you have a tough time
envisioning this, then I encourage you to go for a run with a 20
lbs pack on your torso. You will immediately notice the
difference.

Similarly, most cross-skiers don't exhibit the same physical
stature as rowers. However, their aerobic capacity is
astronomical. Yet, they are more similar to runners in physical
stature as cross-country skiing is a weight-bearing sport and
thus does not reward athletes with lots of weight, even if it's
muscle.

As you can see from the above chart, running burns more
calories than other activities, at the same intensity. It is
therefore the most effective type of cardio for burning fat and
helping you lose weight.

There are two main reasons for this.

First, running is weight bearing which means that the muscles
of your lower body must work harder to support you and propel
you forward; thus, expending more calories. Therefore, the
heavier you are, the more calories you will burn (assuming equal
intensity as someone who is lighter).

Second, running is one of the least efficient of human
movements, which means that it produces a lot of heat/energy
expenditure for its movement. This also means that a lot of
calories are being spent. This is great for those who want to
lose weight but not so great for those looking for efficient
modes of movement.

But it makes sense if you think about it. Cycling is easier
than running, right? That's because cycling is one of the most
mechanically efficient human movements, meaning that more of the
energy you put into the movement actually results in movement
(and not as much heat production as running!)

But we're interested in what burns calories and fat, right?
Therefore, running is your best option. Find me an overweight
runner and I'll be amazed.

Weight Loss Diets: Fact And Fiction, Part 1

>> Friday, February 20, 2009

The weight loss industry is a booming industry worth billions
of dollars annually. It therefore should be no surprise that we
are constantly being bombarded with new `miracle' products and
weight loss programs that will shed the pounds quickly and
without much effort. Navigating the plethora of dieting
information to distinguish between fact and fiction can be
difficult, but it is certainly not impossible.

A good starting place to discover the truth is actually to
uncover the fiction. Once we know what isn't true, we can
concentrate on genuine information that supports weight loss.

Here are four of the most common weight loss myths:

Skipping Meals Will Help You Lose Weight

The idea behind this is that if you eat less food, you will
automatically lose weight. While on the surface this sounds
like it should work, it doesn't take into account the body's
metabolic response to what it sees as starvation. It slows
right down to give you the best chance of survival. This means
that you burn fewer calories. The truth of the matter is,
eating more often but smaller healthy meals raises the
metabolic rate and aids weight loss.

You Can Eat What You Want As Long As You Exercise

You have to do an awful lot of exercise to burn off a chocolate
bar. The value of exercise is not so much that it burns calories
(although that certainly helps), it is that it raises the
metabolic rate so that you burn more calories faster all
through the day. If you need to lose weight, you cannot eat
what you want. You do need to exercise discipline while you
shed those extra pounds.

Diet Pills Will Make You Slim

Diet pills do not make you slim. Most diet pills are designed
to suppress hunger and it is not eating as much that helps you
lose weight. However, diet pills do not control the calories or
fat content of the food you do eat, so you might eat less food
but still the wrong food. Furthermore, pharmaceutical diet
pills have unwanted side effects that can have long term
affects on your health. Some natural diet pills such as hoodia
gordonii have the advantage of suppressing appetite without
side effects, so if you must go down this path, they are the
preferred option. Nevertheless, simply eating less will not
guarantee weight loss unless the food you are eating is healthy
and calorie controlled so that you can lose weight and maintain
good health.

Calorie Restriction Is The Best Way To Lose Weight

The Calorie Restriction Diet is a controversial diet founded on
the belief that severe calorie restriction slows the aging
process. Many people believe that substantial calorie reduction
will reduce metabolic stress and in so doing, increase life
span. Calorie counting on its own is not good dietary practice.
While it is true that counting calories can be very helpful in
managing energy intake, the quality of those calories is very
important. The nutritional impact of the food eaten is very
important and will affect all aspects of health, including
weight stabilization.

Weight Loss Diets: Fact And Fiction, Part 2

Now that we have looked at some very common fallacies, let's
take a look at some important weight loss facts. These facts
can make a huge difference to your ability to achieve your
weight loss goals and then maintaining your new weight in a
healthy manner.

Weight Loss Takes Time

Genuine, healthy, permanent weight loss takes time. It is a
gradual process and it is not going to happen overnight.
Extreme weight loss diets that promise quick results do not
promote good health and even if the person does lose weight
quickly, more often than not, they gain more back than they
lost. This manner of dieting actually causes weight gain in the
long term.

Weight Loss Requires A Lifestyle Change

The first thing that has to change if you want to lose weight
is your diet; not only what you eat, but how much you eat. A
lot of people take in more calories every day than they
actually use. If this continues over time, a person can gain a
lot of weight and yet not appear to be overeating. Effectively,
to lose weight you have to burn more calories than you eat. To
be healthy in the process, these calories have to have a high
nutritional value. Exercise should also be included in this
lifestyle change. Exercise will burn calories while you are
engaged in it, but more than this, it will raise your metabolic
rate so that you burn more calories throughout the day.

You Do Not Necessarily Have To Eat Less

To lose weight, you may not have to eat less food. Many people
are overweight, not because they eat too much, but because they
eat food high in calories. A person who eats a large heaped
plate of salad will consume fewer calories than a person who
eats a small bucket of chips. A person who drinks water with
their meals will consume fewer calories than someone who drinks
a sugary soda. There is also substantial evidence that diet
sodas can prevent weight loss and contribute to weight gain,
not because of calories but because of the effect of chemicals.
This means that calories are not the only consideration in
choosing foods. Nutritional value and health benefits need to
be primary considerations in order to get the best long term
health and weight loss results.

You Should Eat Regularly

It is important to eat regularly for two reasons. Firstly,
hunger is the number one enemy of weight loss so it is
important to avoid more than mild hunger. If you get too
hungry, you can be tempted to just grab anything and totally
blow your daily goals. When we fail, it is easy for
discouragement to set in which can cause us to give up
altogether. Secondly, eating a number of small regular meals
throughout the day will increase your metabolic rate so that
you burn more calories.

If you avoid the fiction and stick to the facts, then your
weight loss journey has every likelihood of success. It is hard
to lose weight in our modern world with its fast-paced stressful
lifestyle and fast food fixes. That is why we really have to
reject this lifestyle to be successful. More than anything, if
you want to lose weight you need to change the way you live,
not just the amount of food you eat.

Three Day Diet

There are many different types of diets that you can try out.
These diets are made so that people lose weight. While some of
the foods in these diets are different the premise is the same.
When you look at how a three day diet can help there are some
interesting things that you will find. The fist item that you
may notice is that some of these diets are in reality starvation
diets.

Here instead of eating any solid foods you are allowed to eat
or drink only a few select items. The quantities of food that
you can eat are severely restricted. In some of these diets you
may not even be allowed to have any type of food. Instead you
are informed that drinking certain types of fluids is the best
and quickest way for you to lose some weight.

The three day diet in general will state that you can lose
about 5 to 10 pounds on unneeded body fat. You should be aware
though that you will probably regain the weight that you have
lost. Also there are other health considerations that you may
want to think about.

Since most of the three day diet programs are aimed at a very
rapid weight loss you will see that water and body muscle tone
is being pulled out of your body. This imbalance does not help
the person who is trying to lose weight. The reality of the
matter is that the fats and calories which are the reason for
your being overweight are still found in your body.

In order to get rid of these materials which are making you
look fat a sensible diet and exercise regime are the best
answer.

You should understand that when people look at these different
diet plans especially a three day diet the visible look of
having lost some weight is what is of paramount importance.

For this reason these types of diets are very popular. With the
long term diet where you change what you eat and the way that
you live the results will take some time to appear. You should
make a decision at this point if you are going to be losing
weight in a consistent manner or if you will need to find a
better dietary plan.

The main thing to remember with a three day diet is that you
will see yourself losing quite a lot of weight. To keep this
weight off however you will need to look for other activities
and food regimes that you can follow. Make sure that at all
points of the time that you are staying healthy. After all what
is the point of going on a three day diet if you fall sick as a
result of this diet.

Detoxification With The 3-day Detox Diet

Today is it hard to avoid having toxins and chemicals in our
system because of our lifestyles and the environment. However,
our bodies are quite remarkable and have been built in such a
way as to protect itself from these harmful intruders. Although
our kidneys, liver, skin, and even the lungs often need to work
a little harder to separate, neutralize, and dispose of these
toxins. When toxins accumulate in our body it causes a release
of some form of chemical. This can gradually mutate into cancers
or other degenerative diseases of the body.

We need to be selective as to what we put into our bodies
because we can never take it back. Sometimes changing your
lifestyle is the only way you can improve the proper functioning
of your body processes. A detox program can be very helpful in
getting rid of body impurities. As with any detoxification
program, they are designed to flush out free radicals, increase
cell renewal, and strengthen your body's immune system. Ridding
your body of toxins will make you feel so much better. Even the
3-day detoxification diet can help in eliminating damaging
toxins.

There are many detox diets our there. One must realize that not
all detox diet programs are suitable for everyone. A 3-day detox
diet just might be wise to start with to test the diet program
and it is also a milder way of detoxifying your body. If you are
interested in a longer detox program you may want to consult
your doctor first before you begin. This is especially important
if you are underweight, malnourished or have a chronic disease
such as cancer, kidney and liver disease, ulcerative colitis,
iron-deficiency, anemia, as well as others. This is always a
good idea when considering any type of diet program.

As mentioned above, there are various detox diets, however, the
3-day detox diet is a good quick start program toward
detoxification. Each morning for the three days drink a cup of
warm water and ½ lemon squeezed in it when you get up. This is
to stimulate your gastric juices. Drink the lemon water instead
of your usual cup of coffee or tea. When planning your meals for
the day you should include one cup of whole grains like brown
rice, buckwheat, amaranth, and at least three servings each of
fruits and vegetables. One of the servings of vegetables, at
least, should be raw vegetables such as carrots, celery, or
cauliflower. Choose the vegetables you enjoy. You could also fix
yourself a salad made of fruits and vegetables. However, for
dressing your salad, use vinegar or any of the natural virgin
oils. Natural oils can include olive, coconut virgin oils, or
fish oil.

In addition to the changes in your meals you will also need to
take two doses of a kidney and liver tonic over the 3-day detox
diet period. Not two doses a day. Just two doses over the three
days you're trying to detoxify your body. You can choose from
the following kidney and liver tonics: two cups of dandelion, a
clove of fresh garlic, chamomile or fennel tea. Other choices
include pure vegetable juice like carrot or beetroot, a medium
bunch of black grapes, or two cups of parsley or yellow tea. On
a daily basis you will need to drink 8 glasses or more of water
as well. It's a good idea to make this a habit anyway. Fresh
fruit juices such as apple and orange can be counted as part of
your water intake. And lastly, before you go to bed drink a cup
of herbal tea. The whole idea is to increase your fluid intake
by ingesting more water, juices, fruits, and vegetables to flush
out harmful toxins and waste.

As part of your 3-day detox diet be sure to include a 30-minute
walk within the program period. Exercise with any diet is ideal
for weight loss and improved health. After the third day, you
will feel rejuvenated and have more energy and should have
dropped a few pounds. You may want to do the 3-day detox diet
again either consecutively or the following month. To have
better health for the rest of your life, a change of lifestyle
is always better than a few days of dieting.
